). Get Your Passport: Your passport to open your world. You need a passport to go to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean now! If you have a passport expired, get it updated. Go to website U.S. State Department to begin the process.

). Travel to places you always wanted to go: Now is the time to travel to distant destination you’ve always wanted to see. If your dream holiday is an African safari, or a trip to the Galapagos, prices in 2010 are still very reasonable.

). Take another day trip or weekend away: You do not need to spend a lot of money to escape. One day’s journey away from your routine, or a weekend getaway will recharge your batteries, hold you over until you can take a long vacation.

). Try something new each trip: Try something that has never been done before every time you travel. This can be as mild or wild as you want. Go horseback riding. Try ballroom dancing lessons. Learn scuba diving. Go whitewater rafting. Try new foods. The possibilities are limitless.

). Get to know local residents: When traveling, starting a conversation with your waitress, eat at local favorite restaurants, or speak with the owner of the shop. Request recommendations for local restaurants, sights to see, or event. You will learn more about the purpose by getting to know the locals better than you would by simply watching from afar.

). Upgrade: Always travel on a budget, staying in the cheapest accommodation, taking the cheapest flight you can find? Why not try to upgrade … for change. Schedule a nonstop flight to your destination (if possible). Flying in first class. Upgrade to the category of your hotel room more pleasant. Book your suite balcony on the cruise. Stay less days if you will get a better room or flight. You will not regret … and will probably enjoy it!

7) Blog about your trip: Keep in touch with family and friends through a blog about your trip. Take pictures, write stories, and they follow you along your journey. This is a great way to stay in touch, and will be memorable for your lifetime.

). Buy Travel Insurance when traveling: Travelling without insurance is like driving a car with insurance. You took a huge risk of causing thousands of dollars in medical costs not covered by your insurance company. Think outside the country, hurt, and are not insured, and should be evacuated back to the United States for emergency surgery. Not something you want to pay out of pocket, but you will be without proper coverage. Insure your trip … You will not regret. If you travel frequently, there you can buy an annual policy, by contrast, less frequent travelers can buy trip insurance rate.

). Travel with your kids: Just because you have kids does not mean you can not travel. This does not mean the end of life as you know it! Travel with your kids … travel through your love for them. Take a shorter trip if money is tight … but travel with them.

). Open to opportunity: When one has ever said, if you want to go-opportunity or you have not thought of before appears, say yes. This question has caused me to travel to Disney, and two cruises. Go, man go!
